Knitting 102 Class: Hats in the Round!
Join us for two Saturday morning sessions at Black Sheep Craft Shop from 10-11am and learn to knit your own hat just in time for cooler weather!
SKILLS YOU WILL LEARN
- German twisted cast-on
- Joining to work in the round
- Ribbed stitch (3pK1)
- Knitting with DPNs (double-pointed needles)
- Decreases (K2tog + SSK)
CLASS FEE INCLUDES
- 2 60-minute small group class sessions
- 100g Manos del Uruguay Alegria Grande Yarn in your choice of color (vegan alternative available)
- Stitch marker

REQUIRED ITEMS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE SEPARATELY IF NEEDED:
- Size 7 DPN Needles
- Size 7 16" circular needles
- scissors (also available to borrow in class)
- tapestry needle (also available to borrow in class)
PREREQUISITE SKILLS/AGE LEVEL
All kids are different but as a general guideline this class is appropriate for ages 12 and older. Students should have basic knowledge of knit stitch and purl stitch before registering for this class.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Deb Cronin, Ph.D., is a psychology professor at Drake, where she teaches & studies visual attention and its relation to processing and memory. If that's not enough, she also fosters kittens and her knitting wins blue ribbons at the fair!
